Prisync alternative

Pricebeeper vs Prisync

Prisync is an established competitor price tracker that checks the competitor URLs you give it 3 times a day, from $99 a month for 100 products. Pricebeeper searches Google Shopping and Amazon for the sellers itself, matches them by barcode, and tracks them by country or by state, from $39 a month for 500 products.

The short answer

Pick Prisync if you already know your competitors, need their prices several times a day, or run Magento. Pick Pricebeeper if you would rather not collect and maintain competitor URLs, if your prices differ by state or province, or if you monitor more than a few hundred products on a budget: 1,500 products cost $99 a month on Plus, against $399 on Prisync's Platinum plan.

Who Pricebeeper suits better than Prisync

  1. Shops that don't want to collect competitor URLs

Prisync's cheapest plans track competitor pages you add one by one or in bulk. Its plans that find competitors on sales channels start at $199 a month for 100 products and update daily. Every Pricebeeper paid plan, from $39, searches Google Shopping and Amazon for you and matches by GTIN barcode.

  2. Retailers whose prices differ by state or province

Pricebeeper tracks 67 countries and about 1,700 regions inside them, such as US states and Canadian provinces. Prisync's pages describe worldwide site and currency coverage but don't mention regions below country level.

  3. Catalogs of 500 to 5,000 products on a set budget

At full use Pricebeeper costs $0.078 per product on Starter and $0.070 on Growth. Prisync's URL plans work out at $0.99 per product for 100, $0.20 for 1,000 and $0.08 for 5,000, and Shopify variants count as products.

  4. Brands that need MAP monitoring without buying the top plan

Prisync lists MAP monitoring on Platinum, $399 a month. Pricebeeper includes it on Growth at $209, with violations grouped by seller and a hashed evidence snapshot of each one.

  5. Teams who want the API and price history on every plan

Prisync charges 20% extra for API access and lists price history as a Platinum feature. Pricebeeper includes both on every plan, Free included, along with CSV exports, Slack and signed webhooks.

What each tool is

Prisync is a competitor price tracking and dynamic pricing tool sold on monthly plans. It offers three ways to track: URL based (you add competitor product pages), channel based (it tracks sellers on sales channels such as Google Shopping) and a hybrid of the two. Its Shopify app has 239 reviews and a 4.9 rating.

Pricebeeper is a newer competitor price monitoring tool built around search and matching. It looks up each product on Google Shopping and Amazon, matches the sellers by barcode, and records their prices by country or by state. On Growth and up it adds MAP monitoring, repricing and competitor ad monitoring.

Pricing at three catalog sizes

Both tools price by the number of products you track, so the fairest comparison is the monthly bill at a given catalog size. The figures below use Prisync's URL-based plans, its cheapest, and Pricebeeper's monthly prices. Prisync's channel-based plans cost $100 to $200 a month more at each size.

Monthly price for one country
Products trackedPricebeeperPrisync (URL based)
100$39 (Starter, room for 500)$99 (Professional)
1,000$99 (Plus, room for 1,500)$199 (Premium)
3,000$209 (Growth)$399 (Platinum)
5,000$329 (Growth plus two 1,000-slot packs)$399 (Platinum)

At 5,000 products the two bills are close: $329 against $399. Below that, Pricebeeper costs roughly half or less. The comparison changes if you track in more than one country. A Pricebeeper slot is one product in one region, so 1,000 products in two regions use 2,000 slots, which fits in Growth. Prisync includes one sales channel on its channel and hybrid plans and charges $100 to $200 a month for each extra one.

Two smaller differences add up. Prisync's API costs 20% on top of the plan, and its Shopify plans count variants as products ("Up to 100 Products / Variants"). Pricebeeper includes the API on every plan and counts only the slots you choose to monitor, whatever your catalog size. The pricing page has the full table, and slot-based pricing explains how slots and packs work.

How competitors are found and matched

This is the biggest practical difference. On Prisync's URL plans you tell it where to look: for each of your products, you add the competitor pages you want tracked. That is accurate, because you chose the pages, but someone has to find them and keep the list current when a competitor changes its site or a new seller appears. Prisync's channel plans remove that work for sales channels, starting at $199 a month.

Pricebeeper does the search on every paid plan. It looks for your product on Google Shopping and Amazon by GTIN barcode first, then by brand and title. When it matches the product to a Google Shopping product or an Amazon ASIN, it asks for the sellers of that exact item: up to 40 on Google Shopping, plus the sellers of the Amazon ASIN. The search runs once a month, so a new shop listing it shows up at the next monthly search. Doubtful matches are flagged for you to confirm or reject. Exact product matching covers the details.

If you do know a competitor you want watched, Pricebeeper takes URLs too: pinned competitor pages, up to 5 per product on Plus and 20 on Pro. Prisync's URL plans take an unlimited number of competitors per product, which suits shops that track many known rivals for each item.

How often prices are checked

Prisync is ahead on frequency. Its URL plans update every tracked page 3 times a day, and its channel plans update daily. If you compete in a category where prices change within hours, that matters.

Pricebeeper finds sellers once a month on every paid plan. Between those searches it re-reads each known seller's own product page every week on Starter and Plus, and every day on Growth and up, with the 5 cheapest offers and your pinned pages every 6 hours. That covers much of the gap for sellers it already knows; for new sellers, Prisync is far quicker. A Check now button re-reads a product's known offers on demand. Daily or hourly discovery of new sellers is only on the sales-led Custom plan. Re-checks explains the schedule.

Regions and channels

Prisync covers sites and currencies worldwide and tracks marketplaces such as Google Shopping and Amazon from its Premium plan. Pricebeeper covers Google Shopping (including Walmart and eBay sellers that list there) and Amazon in 67 countries, plus competitor websites you pin.

The difference is depth inside a country. Pricebeeper can track a product separately in Texas and in California, or in Ontario and in Quebec, because Google Shopping results differ by location. That is useful for retailers with stores or delivery zones in several states. Prisync's public pages don't mention sub-national tracking. Regional price tracking describes how regions and slots interact.

Repricing, MAP and alerts

Both tools reprice. Prisync includes its dynamic pricing engine from Premium ($199) and syncs with Shopify, and it offers Magento extensions. Pricebeeper's repricing starts on Growth ($209): rules suggest prices within your floor, ceiling and maximum change, you approve them, and approved prices are written to Shopify or WooCommerce. On Pro and up, rules can apply their own changes within a daily cap.

For brands, MAP monitoring sits on Prisync's Platinum plan at $399. Pricebeeper includes it on Growth, with an authorized-seller list, violations by seller, reports by region and a daily summary email.

Prisync sends daily notifications on Premium and instant ones on Platinum, and monitors stock availability from its first plan. Pricebeeper sends price alerts and stock alerts on every plan, by email, in the app, to Slack or to a webhook.

Trying both

Both offer a 14-day trial without a card: Prisync on all plans, Pricebeeper on Growth. A practical test is to load the same 50 to 100 products into each and compare three things after a week: how many sellers each found, how many of them were the exact product, and how long setup took. Pricebeeper's Free plan also stays free after that, for 50 products and up to 3 pinned pages each. Create an account to start.

When Prisync may suit you better

  • You need known competitors' prices several times a day

Prisync updates the URLs you add 3 times a day on every plan. Pricebeeper finds sellers once a month and re-reads the known ones weekly, or daily on Growth and up with the 5 cheapest every 6 hours. A new seller shows up at the next monthly search unless you pin its page, and more frequent discovery needs the sales-led Custom plan.

  • You run Magento

Prisync offers Magento 1 and Magento 2 extensions. Pricebeeper connects to Shopify and WooCommerce; other platforms import by CSV or Merchant Center feed and take price changes by CSV or webhook.

  • You want a vendor with a long public track record

Prisync shows 239 reviews on the Shopify App Store with a 4.9 rating, plus case studies. Pricebeeper is newer and has no public reviews yet.

  • You would rather pay someone to match products

Prisync sells a competitor matching service to order. Pricebeeper matches automatically and asks you to confirm the doubtful matches; there is no managed matching service.

Questions people ask

Is Pricebeeper cheaper than Prisync?

Up to about 5,000 products, yes. 1,000 products cost $99 a month on Pricebeeper Plus and $199 on Prisync Premium (URL based). At 5,000 products the bills are close: $329 against $399. Tracking in more than one country or region changes the maths for both tools.

Does Pricebeeper need competitor URLs like Prisync?

No. Pricebeeper's paid plans search Google Shopping and Amazon for each product and match sellers by barcode, then brand and title. You can add competitor URLs as pinned pages if you want specific shops watched, and on the Free plan pinned pages are the only competitor source.

Which tool checks prices more often?

Prisync. Its URL plans update 3 times a day. Pricebeeper finds sellers monthly and re-reads the known ones weekly, or daily on Growth and up with the 5 cheapest every 6 hours. Daily or hourly discovery is only on Pricebeeper's Custom plan.

Can I move my Prisync products to Pricebeeper?

Yes. Export your products from Prisync or your store as CSV, including barcodes if you have them, and import them into Pricebeeper, or connect your Shopify or WooCommerce store directly. Competitor URLs you tracked in Prisync can be added as pinned competitor pages in bulk with a CSV file.

Does Pricebeeper work with Magento like Prisync?

Not directly. Pricebeeper connects to Shopify and WooCommerce. Magento shops can import products with a CSV file or a Google Merchant Center feed, and take repricing suggestions as a CSV export or a webhook.
