Pricebeeper vs Price2Spy

Price2Spy is a price monitoring and repricing service founded in 2010 that checks the competitor URLs in your account up to 8 times a day on its Premium tier. Its pricing page no longer shows prices and offers a personalized quote instead, and repricing, screenshots and Automatch are extra modules. Pricebeeper publishes every plan, from $39 a month for 500 products, and finds the sellers on Google Shopping and Amazon itself, but finds new ones only once a month.

The short answer

Pick Price2Spy if you know which competitor pages matter, want them checked several times a day, or want an account manager, custom development and screenshots of MAP breaches; it also connects Magento, BigCommerce, Shopware and PrestaShop. Pick Pricebeeper if you want to see the price before you talk to anyone, don't have a list of competitor URLs, or track prices by US state or Canadian province: 3,000 products with daily re-checks, MAP and repricing cost $209 a month on Growth.

Who Pricebeeper suits better than Price2Spy

  1. Buyers who want the price before the first call

Pricebeeper's plans are public, from $39 a month for 500 products to $1,999 for 30,000, and you change plans from the billing page. Price2Spy's pricing page lists features by tier and asks you to get in touch for a personalized quote.

  2. Shops that don't have a list of competitor product URLs

Price2Spy's onboarding asks for the list of product URLs to monitor; finding them is a matching service or the Automatch module, both charged separately. Every Pricebeeper paid plan, from $39, searches Google Shopping and Amazon by barcode, then brand and title, and brings back the sellers.

  3. Teams that want the API, repricing and MAP in one plan price

Price2Spy puts API access on Premium, sells repricing as a separate module, and adds MAP monitoring from Basic. Pricebeeper includes the API on every plan and MAP monitoring, repricing and competitor ad monitoring on Growth at $209 a month.

  4. Retailers who compare prices between states or provinces

Pricebeeper tracks 67 countries and about 1,700 states, provinces and cantons, each as its own region. Price2Spy monitors sites in any language and currency, but its pages don't describe tracking a state or province.

Price2Spy in brief

Price2Spy is a price monitoring, analysis and repricing service run by WEBCentric in Belgrade, Serbia, and founded in 2010. Its monitoring page says more than 750 clients use it. You give it the product pages to watch on competitor sites and marketplaces, and it reads price and stock from each page on the schedule you set, with over 25 reports on top.

Its pricing page shows three tiers. Starter is self-service: price monitoring, reports, a dashboard, feed integration, bulk import, Quick Match and daily alerts, for up to 10 competitors. Basic adds chat and email support, marketplace monitoring, MAP monitoring, instant alerts, product variations and store integrations. Premium adds the API, extra captured details, up to 8 checks a day and 3 user seats.

Pricebeeper is a newer, self-serve competitor price monitoring tool. It searches Google Shopping and Amazon for the sellers of each product, matches them by barcode, and tracks their prices by country or by state.

Published prices against a quote

Price2Spy's pricing page no longer shows prices. It invites you to a free consultation and a personalized quote, and bases plans on the number of product URLs you monitor rather than the number of competitors. A URL is one product page on one site, so 1,000 products watched on 5 competitor sites are 5,000 URLs. Repricing, screenshots, Automatch, Google Analytics 4 and an account-control service are separately priced modules, and extra users, reports and stealth traffic are charged by use.

Because no figures are published, a like-for-like cost comparison isn't possible. What Pricebeeper costs at four sizes, with no quote needed:

Pricebeeper monthly prices, one region; Price2Spy quotes each account
Products monitoredPricebeeper planMonthly price
500Starter, weekly re-reads$39
1,000Starter plus a 500-slot pack, weekly re-reads$69
3,000Growth, daily re-checks, MAP and repricing$209
10,000Growth plus packs of 5,000, 1,000 and 1,000$629

Pricebeeper's price doesn't change with the number of competitors per product. Price2Spy offers a discount for paying a year upfront; Pricebeeper's annual billing is about 17% cheaper, and monthly plans can be cancelled from the billing page. See the pricing page and slot-based pricing.

Up to 8 checks a day on Price2Spy Premium

Price2Spy lets you choose how often competitor prices are checked, from weekly to 8 times a day, with 8 a day listed on Premium. Its Starter brochure describes daily checks and a daily digest of changes; Basic sends alerts as soon as a change is seen.

Pricebeeper searches for sellers once a month on every paid plan. Between searches it re-reads up to 40 known sellers per matched product from their own pages: weekly on Starter and Plus, and once a day on Growth, Pro and Business, with the 5 cheapest every 6 hours. Daily re-checks describes the schedule, and Check now re-reads a product's known offers on demand. A new seller shows up at the next monthly search unless you pin its page. If your market moves several times a day, Price2Spy's Premium tier checks more often.

Marketplaces, comparison sites and regions

Price2Spy monitors any e-commerce site, marketplace or price comparison site in any language or currency, and can follow the sellers of a listing or only chosen ones. Premium captures more than price and stock: shipping cost and time, seller name, rating and reviews.

Pricebeeper covers Google Shopping, which includes Walmart, eBay stores and independent shops that list there, and Amazon, in 67 countries, and records each seller's shipping, total price, stock and condition on every paid plan. It has no idealo or Prisjakt. What it adds is depth inside a country: regional price tracking follows the same product in about 1,700 states, provinces and cantons.

Repricing, MAP and store connections

Price2Spy's repricing module builds strategies from base, filter and auxiliary rules, with priorities, floors, ceilings and date ranges, and logs every change. Prices go out as a CSV file to your FTP server or straight to the store, after your approval or on a schedule. Its MAP monitoring flags violations and unauthorized sellers, and the screenshots module keeps a picture of the page as proof.

Pricebeeper's repricing starts on Growth: rules within a floor, ceiling and maximum change, an approval queue, and updates written to Shopify or WooCommerce, with automatic changes on Pro. MAP monitoring on Growth groups violations by seller and keeps a snapshot of price, seller, URL and time with a SHA-256 hash, but no screenshot.

Trying both

Price2Spy's trial lasts 14 days without a card and comes with an account manager. Pricebeeper's Growth trial lasts 14 days without a card and drops to the Free plan afterwards, so nothing is charged. Load the same products into each and compare setup time, the sellers found, and the quote you receive against Pricebeeper's listed price. Create an account to begin.

When Price2Spy may suit you better

  • You need known competitor pages checked several times a day

Price2Spy's Premium tier checks up to 8 times a day, and schedules run from weekly to 8 a day. Pricebeeper searches for sellers once a month and re-reads the known ones weekly on Starter and Plus, or daily on Growth and up with the 5 cheapest every 6 hours.

  • You want a managed service rather than a self-serve tool

Price2Spy assigns an account manager from the trial onward, matches products with human checks, builds custom features to order, and sells stealth IP traffic for sites that block bots. Pricebeeper is self-serve: matching is automatic, and you confirm doubtful matches yourself.

  • Your store runs on Magento, BigCommerce, Shopware or PrestaShop

Price2Spy links products from and writes prices to Magento 2, Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Shopware 6, and to PrestaShop by webhook. Pricebeeper connects Shopify and WooCommerce; others take changes by CSV or webhook.

  • You want a long track record and screenshot evidence

Price2Spy was founded in 2010, says more than 750 clients use it, and sells a screenshots module that captures a page when a price changes or breaks your MAP. Pricebeeper is newer, has no public reviews yet, and keeps a hashed data snapshot instead of a screenshot.
